REPERTOIRE

Sebastian Wittmoser Herrera’s repertoire spans from Bach and Monteverdi to Stravinsky, encompassing opera, oratorio, and art song repertoire for bass and bass-baritone. His operatic experience includes complete roles such as Figaro in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Leporello and Masetto in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and Giordano in Iain Bell’s Stonewall.

During his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music, Sebastian has performed roles including Plutone in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, Peter Quince in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the bass chorus role in Kaija Saariaho’s La Passion de Simone. He has also worked on repertoire by Arnold Schoenberg and Igor Stravinsky, including Nick Shadow in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress.

Sebastian feels especially comfortable with the Classical and bel canto repertoire, particularly the works of Mozart, Rossini, and Händel.

His repertoire includes works by Bach, Händel, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Rossini, Bellini, Verdi, Gounod, Boito, Puccini, Wagner, Schoenberg, Britten, Saariaho, Stravinsky, and other composers of the operatic and vocal canon. His repertoire by Händel includes Messiah, Acis and Galatea, and Orlando, while his Classical repertoire includes Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Die Zauberflöte, Beethoven’s Fidelio, and Haydn’s Die Schöpfung. His bel canto and Romantic repertoire includes Rossini’s Maometto II, Le Comte Ory, and Semiramide, Verdi’s Il Trovatore, Macbeth, and Attila, Gounod’s Faust, Boito’s Mefistofele, Puccini’s La Bohème, Wagner’s Tannhäuser, and the Four Villains in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann.

Alongside opera, Sebastian maintains an active art song repertoire, including works by Schubert, Schumann, Carl Loewe, Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Ravel, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gerald Finzi, Jacques Ibert, and others, as well as concert and sacred repertoire by composers such as Bach, Haydn, Händel, and others.
